About Us

My name is Andrea.

I am the main character at Authentic Africa Tours and Safaris. I have been working in the business for many years and bring to the table vast Africa-related experiences inside and outside of the travel industry.

My background as a veterinary professional brought me to Namibia more years ago than I want to admit. Having spent my childhood admiring Africa in TV shows and magazine articles, I was finally able to touch Africa’s soil, taste her air and marvel at her sunsets.

I fell in love.

The vast open spaces, the wildlife, and the people of Africa found their way into my heart, never to leave again.

I want you to feel the same.

I handpick the camps and lodges, the operators and the experiences I believe will leave an impression on you. I research the different areas extensively while visiting Africa as often as I can, always seeking to discover the best of Africa.

We just returned from an absolutely amazing trip to Africa for 3 weeks! Andrea did a tremendous job of organising all of the places on our wishlist that we could get to even with the Covid restrictions. We were so fortunate to see so much wildlife without the crowds. I'm sure we experienced Africa as few people get to...even our seasoned guides were amazed at times with what we saw with so few people around. Andrea was so patient working with me to make a trip of a lifetime come true despite all of the times we had to cancel and reschedule things due to Covid changes. It was SO worth it. I will definitely use Authentic Africa Tours and Safaris if, no WHEN, we go back to Africa! Thank you for making a dream come true!

In September 2021 we travelled to Namibia. What a terrific experience. We saw unique landscapes from gigantic sand dunes to savanna’s and game parks. Animals were plentiful in Etosha and the other game parks. We felt very safe. Tour operators followed strict covid protocols.
