April

April represents the start of the Safari season in the South Luangwa, Zambia as the wet season comes to an end. However, this is the start of the rainy season further north in East Africa.

Autumn is in full swing in Southern African and with it less chance of rain. Game viewing become more prolific around water holes and rivers as this is where animals and birds have to congregate in order to find water.

The Okavango Delta is affected by seasonal flooding with water from Angola. The water reaches the pan handle of the Okavango Delta in April. This inundation of water offers a great opportunity for a safari of a different kind, on a makoro, canoe or boat.

With the approaching summer in the northern hemisphere, the temperatures in Egypt start to increase significantly.
